Quezon City โ The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recently marked its 31st Founding Anniversary and 5th National Higher Education Day with a week-long celebration held from May 13 to 17, 2025, at the CHED Central Office. Centered on the theme โHigher Heights for Higher Education,โ the events highlighted unity, resilience, and excellence in Philippine higher education.
The opening ceremony on May 13, led by CHED Chairman J. Prospero E. De Vera III, DPA, featured the awarding of CHED Employees Loyalty Awardees, HRD Scholarship Graduates, System Developers, and the granting of Autonomous Status to six Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Among those recognized from CHED MIMAROPA were Mr. Victor P. Conanan Jr., Education Supervisor II (10 years), Mr. Dionisio O. Camato, Chief Administrative Officer (30 years), and Mr. Robert R. Ontal, Administrative Aide III (35 years), honoring their dedicated service.
On May 14, CHED MIMAROPAโs Administrative and Technical Units actively joined the Resiliency and Excellence for Administrative Personnel (REAP) Administrative Convergence and the OED-OPSD-CHEDRO Technical Convergence, respectively, promoting collaboration and innovation.
The CHED General Assembly cum Family Day on May 15 saw CHED MIMAROPA represented by Mr. John Kenneth Guerrero and Ms. Sherrie Bongalon in the Mr. and Ms. CHED 2025 pageant, celebrating camaraderie among CHED employees nationwide.
May 16 marked the successful conduct of the 1st National Education Support Personnel Day Forum, spotlighting the crucial role of education support staff, followed by the Healthcare and Financial Wellness Program on May 17, which focused on promoting employee well-being and financial literacy.
Throughout the week, CHED MIMAROPA officials and staff joined the activities and events to show solidarity and support for all the CHED Initiatives. THE CHED MIMAROPA MIS Unit was again requested to support Central Office staff by providing facebook live coverage, photography, and video documentation, ensuring the events were shared widely within the CHED community.
