CHED-MIMAROPA distributed Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) grant to 106 recipients from various HEIs in Aborlan and Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan on August 29 and 30, 2024. The event was hosted by Western Philippines University (WPU).
To Support CHED-MIMAROPA in the event, WPU President, Dr. Amabel S. Liao, warmly welcomed all the grantees. Dr. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, Director IV of CHED-Office of Student Development Services (CHED-OSDS), graced the event and discussed the objective of the SMART Grant Program. Furthermore, Mr. Earl Carlos Esguera, the representative from the Office of the Caretaker of Palawan District 1 and 3, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, shared messages to the grantees.
CHED-MIMAROPAโs Focal for Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs), Ms. Merigen S. Cafino, and Disbursing Officer, Ms. Abigail T. Limjuco, gave instructions and inspirational messages to the recipients and facilitated the distribution of the grants worth P25, 000 for each student.
