Academic Excellence Rewarded: CHED-MIMAROPA recognized new batch of CHED-Merit Scholarship

The Commission on Higher Education-MIMAROPA Regional Office (CHED-MIMAROPA) identified 44 recipients of CHED Merit Scholarship Program (CMSP) beginning Academic Year 2024-2025.

CHED Merit Scholarship Program is intended for students who are eligible for tertiary education, has excellent academic standing before entering as college Freshman, enrolled in recognized priority programs offered by higher education institutions (HEIs) with government authority and recognition, not financially well off, underprivilege or belonging to special group. The type of scholarship is determined through ranking system and availability of slots.

 

Beginning Academic Year 2024-2025, seven (7) MIMAROPA students from state universities and colleges shall be recipients of Full State Scholarship Program (FSSP) while fifteen (15) shall receive Half State Scholarship Program (HSSP).

There are also six (6) students from Private Higher Education Institutions of MIMAROPA who will receive Full Private Education Student Financial Assistance (FPESFA), and 13 students for Half Private Education Student Financial Assistance (HPESFA).

Three (3) students were also recognized as Gender and Development (GAD) Scholars for being able to qualify and to excel in programs which are dominated by their opposite sex.

The Full and Half PESFA GAD scholars will also receive the benefit corresponding for Full and Half Merit scholars.

The scholars are expected to maintain good academic standing, carry a regular load per semester/term as determined by the HEIs, and to complete the degree program within the time frame required in the curriculum.

The partnership of the HEIs and the Commission for CMSP aims to make higher education accessible to qualified and deserving Filipino Students.
