On January 7, 2024, a meaningful and symbolic send-off and turnover ceremony took place at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) MIMAROPA Regional Office, marking the transition of leadership from Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes to the newly appointed Regional Director, Prof. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi.
During the ceremony, Dr. Catanes expressed his gratitude to the CHED team and highlighting the collaborative efforts that led to numerous accomplishments throughout his tenure. He also wished Prof. Legazpi success in her new role, confident that she would continue the region’s upward trajectory in higher education development.
Prof. Legazpi, who assumed the position with a wealth of experience in educational management, shared her vision for the future, emphasizing a continued focus on innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in higher education. She expressed her commitment to furthering the progress established by her predecessor and vowed to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the success and growth of the MIMAROPA region.
The ceremony was attended by CHED MIMAROPA officials and staffs, who extended their support and best wishes to both outgoing and incoming directors. This transition marks a new chapter for CHED MIMAROPA, with a shared commitment to achieving the Commission’s mission of promoting higher education across the region.
