Atty. Joselito C. Alisuag currently holds the position of Regional Director of MIMAROPA Commission on Higher Education (CHED); Previous to this he was the Director of the Office of Institutional Quality Assurance (OIQAG) of CHED. Atty. Alisuag is an academician who has used his technical expertise to help Universities and community, educate the public, and protecting the Environment. His areas of policy expertise cover higher education, Law, indigenous communities, environment, good governance, sports, culture and arts. Prior to his appointment to CHED he was connected to the Palawan State University. He served as Vice President for Administration, Dean of Students; Presidential Assistant for Special Projects and Concerns/Director for Legal affairs and Socio-Cultural Affairs Director holding the rank of Associate Professor V.
He was an Artist and Repertoire talent of the Vicor Music Corporation, a human rights and a labor lawyer. He is one of the country’s first environmental lawyer with the Tanggol Kalikasan-Haribon Foundation and was trained at the University of Oregon. He helped form the environmental movement in the country’s last frontier, Palawan and helped craft the environmental programs of Puerto Princesa City and the Province of Palawan. He served Haribon Palawan as Chairman and was the Executive Director of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development under the Office of the President.
He advocates biodiversity conservation through building constituencies, empowering communities and applying multidisciplinary approaches. Atty. Alisuag finished his BS Psychology and Juris Doctor degrees from the Lyceum of the Philippines University a Doctor of Philosophy in Management from AKAMAI University and post graduate degrees in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management, in Community Development from the Population and Community Development Institute of Thailand, and in Adult Education from the University of Toronto.
