Holy Trinity University (HTU) reinforces its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility by spearheading initiatives that drive meaningful impact. On September 10, 2024, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, HTU conducted an orientation and mentoring session focused on Internationalization and Global Citizenship Education for its school officials and leaders. This effort was coordinated with the Commission on Higher Education MIMAROPA, which responded by providing technical assistance to ensure the successful execution of the orientation.
The session emphasized the importance of internal quality assurance and outcomes-based education, emphasizing HTU’s vital role in enhancing graduates’ employability, values, and global competitiveness. CHED MIMAROPA team facilitated the orientation and workshop, during which they also discussed the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings and World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).
CHED MIMAROPA acknowledges the competencies of Holy Trinity University and recognizes that the institution’s core values are essential for advancing sustainable development and promoting community engagement. Under the leadership of President Sr. Elenita B. Ocampo, O.P., HTU has showcased initiatives that benefit local communities and indigenous groups in Palawan. She is joined by her Vice Presidents, Deans of the different colleges, Program Coordinators and School Staffs. Participants were guided to review their policies, projects, and programs to ensure they address the needs of both local and indigenous populations. Additionally, they assessed their sustainability initiatives for alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
CHED MIMAROPA is dedicated to guiding higher education institutions in the region toward achieving global excellence. To this end, it will provide ongoing technical assistance in developing comprehensive write-ups and programs to ensure alignment with the criteria established by THE Impact Rankings and WURI.
CHED MIMAROPA is hopeful that this partnership marks the beginning of a long-term strategy to increase the global competitiveness of MIMAROPA’s academic institutions, with a vision of sustainable growth and international impact.
