The Commission on Higher Education MIMAROPA joined the Association of Higher Education Institutions Registrars in MIMAROPA (AHEIRIM) in its 19th Annual Conference, held at Coron Westown Resort, Coron, Palawan, with the theme “Leveraging Innovations and Technology for Enhanced Registrar’s Services.”
The two-day conference brought together HEI registrars and higher education stakeholders for meaningful discussions on emerging concerns, policies, and innovations affecting registrar services and institutional operations.
Among the key sessions were discussions on strengthening institutional data management through CHED’s Higher Education Data/Information Collection (CHECKs), CHED compliance checks, legal updates affecting HEIs and registrar operations, and digitizing with a privacy-first mindset.
The conference also featured a session facilitated by CHED-UniFAST MIMAROPA on the latest updates on the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), including relevant policies, guidelines, and institutional responsibilities, followed by a discussion on Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs), as well as an open forum and sharing of best practices.
Through initiatives such as this, CHED MIMAROPA continues to strengthen collaboration with HEIs and support the professional development of higher education personnel toward more responsive, innovative, compliant, and technology-enabled institutional services. The activity likewise contributes to the CHED A.C.H.I.E.V.E. Agenda, particularly its priorities on Expanded and Integrated Real-Time Data Collection and Analytics and Vitalized Policies, Internal Systems, and Governance, by strengthening institutional data management, promoting awareness of policies and compliance requirements, and supporting HEIs in developing responsive and accountable services.
