In line with the nationwide observance of the 36th National Statistics Month (NSM) this October 2025, the Commission on Higher Education MIMAROPA Regional Office (CHED MIMAROPA) headed by the Regional Director, Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, actively participated in activities that underscore the vital role of data and statistics in promoting evidence-based governance and sustainable development in higher education.

As part of the regional celebration, the Management Information System (MIS) Unit, headed by Engr. Edgar C. Cepe and Mr. Victor P. Conanan, discussed the importance of data collection, management, and utilization during the 18th Annual Conference of the Association of HEIs’ Registrars in MIMAROPA (AHEIRIM) Region, Inc. The presentation emphasized the critical role of accurate and timely data in formulating informed policies and improving institutional performance across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the region.

In support of the observance, CHED MIMAROPA also launched the 2025 Regional Statistical Bulletin, an annual publication that consolidates and presents data submitted by all HEIs in the region. The Statistical Bulletin serves as a comprehensive reference for education planners, administrators, and researchers in assessing trends and developments in higher education within MIMAROPA.

Further strengthening its commitment to innovation and transparency, the Regional Office introduced the enhanced SALIN KAALAMAN Data Dashboard, which offers stakeholders an improved and user-friendly platform for accessing key regional education statistics. The upgraded dashboard reinforces CHED MIMAROPA’s dedication to providing accessible and reliable information to the public which can be accessed through the official website at https://mimaropa.ched.gov.ph/.

To promote public awareness and participation, the 36th National Statistics Month official poster was displayed at the CHED MIMAROPA Regional Office, signifying the agency’s continuous support for statistical literacy and data-driven development.
Through these initiatives, CHED MIMAROPA reaffirms its support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) — by fostering a culture of data-informed governance and evidence-based decision-making in higher education.
