Building on the momentum of a successful collaboration workshop held in Perak, Malaysia, on May 6-7, 2024, participants from Batangas State University, Guimaras State University, Kalinga State University, Palawan State University, Technological University of the Philippines, University of Southeastern Philippines, Western Philippines University, Occidental Mindoro State College, and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) have gathered in Puerto Princesa, Palawan for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Under the visionary leadership of Chairman Prospero de Vera III, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has spearheaded this initiative. Chairman de Vera’s commitment to enhancing the global competitiveness of Philippine higher education has been instrumental in forging this partnership. His forward-thinking approach and dedication to international collaboration have paved the way for this significant milestone, promoting excellence and innovation across Philippine universities.
This initiative has been efficiently coordinated by the Office of International Affairs Service, led by Atty. Lily Freida C. Macabangun-Milla, CESO IV. Her efforts ensure that the partnership aligns with CHED’s objectives of internationalization and academic excellence.
This collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) in Malaysia and several other Philippine universities signifies a significant step in strengthening international academic ties. The activity is also supported by the Office of the Governor, Hon. Dennis M. Socrates, and the Local Government, Mayor Hon. Lucilo R.
