A Press Conference with CHED Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, CHEDRO Director Atty. Joselito C. Alisuag, UniFAST Director Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, and Presidents of SUCs in MIMAROPA Region.
The event was held right after the tree planting event, which concluded the PADYAKalikasan in the province of Romblon. Organized by the Romblon State University, with the participation of the local press in the region. The questions centered around the effectiveness of RA 10931 and CHEDโs action plan on promoting sports events on colleges and universities. The chairman shared how many students were granted the Tertiary Education Subsidy and his experience talking with TES beneficiaries on how it helped them financially allowing them to focus on studying and finishing their course.. Due to the RA 10931 alleviating the financial burden on families, more parents are encouraging their children to obtain a college degree and get better jobs. Chairperson De Vera also stated that CHED has started its part on promoting sports events 2 weeks ago when the CHED Friendship Games were launched.
