The history of celebrating success in higher education continues, marking another significant milestone for Romblon State University (RSU) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in setting the standards for quality education in the region.
On February 20, 2025, nearly 2,000 students gathered at the RSU Main Campus in Odiongan, Romblon, for the RSU Localized TES Congress. This momentous occasion was graced by prominent figures, including CHED Chairperson Popoy De Vera, RSU President Dr. Merian Catajay-Mani, UniFAST Executive Director Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, CHED MIMAROPA Regional Director Prof. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, along with top RSU officials, university presidents from other State Universities, and distinguished guests.
One of the highlights of the event was the Talk to Popoy session, where students had the unique opportunity to engage directly with the guests and ask insightful questions. This interaction not only deepened their understanding of the importance of quality education but also added tremendous value to the event, leaving an indelible impact on all who participated.
The Localized TES Congress stands as a testament to CHED’s and UniFAST’s commitment to connecting with students, reinforcing the transformative power of quality education, and making higher education more accessible to everyone. It underscores the unwavering dedication to making students’ dreams achievable through initiatives like Free Higher Education in the Philippines, a vital step toward shaping a brighter future.
At CHED MIMAROPA, we don’t just start—we make history.
