StuFAPs Unit steered Orientation, Monitoring, Awarding of new grantees, and Financial Assistance Distribution in Marinduque

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Marinduque implementing various Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs) of the Commission on Higher Education-MIMAROPA Regional Office (CHED-MIMAROPA) were visited by the StuFAPs Unit of CHED-MIMAROPA from October 8 to 10, 2025 for the conduct of Awarding of new grantees, Distribution of financial assistance, Orientation, and Monitoring.

Marinduque State University (MarSU), Educational Systems Technology Institute (ESTI), St. Mary’s College Marinduque (SMCM), and Santa Cruz Institute (SCI) are the HEIs in Marinduque with various StuFAPs such as: CHED Merit Scholarship Program (CMSP), Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Grants-in-Aid for Higher Education Program (ACEF-GIAHEP), Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho), and Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART). The said HEIs were monitored on their implementation of various scholarship programs for the improvement of the institution’s scholarship services.

The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) supported the Orientation for its CoScho beneficiaries as Ms. Joanna Marie F. Portales, Senior Agriculturist of PCA, shared message of support to scholars and responded to CoScho scholars’ inquiries.

Eleven (11) new scholars from Marinduque were recognized, 152 new and on-going scholars were oriented, and more than 1.5M worth of financial assistance were distributed in the series of events.
