CHED MIMAROPA distributed P25, 000 to sixty (60) student beneficiaries of Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) Program in Occidental Mindoro on April 29, 2024.
The event is a continuation of the said grant distribution wherein grantees also received the same amount of financial benefit in the Legislative Office of Sablayan on February 7, 2024. SMART grant is given to qualified students enrolled in any CHED recognized bachelor’s degree program for the 1st Semester, Academic Year 2023-2024 and may be used in support for the cost of higher education which includes educational expenses and cost of living allowance.
The distribution of SMART grant happens in collaboration with the Office of Hon. Leody F. Tarriela and Kalinga Partylist Representative Hon. Irene Gay F. Saulog. The event was also graced by Sen. Mark A. Villar and other government officials of the province as it is part of the 114th Founding Anniversary celebration of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. Simultaneous activities were also conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
